Catfish Pepper Soup With Unripe Plantains
Sometimes you think you’ve seen it all, or even tasted it all……guess what ? Not this one (lol). Winter is fast approaching, and soups are usually the favourites during this season. This Catfish pepper soup has a distinctive fresh taste from the lemons and limes which I have drizzled over it. I thought to try this out after I realised the taste works well in my head, so lets see if my mouth and belly agrees, and if they didn’t , then we call it a day and scrap the invention. Mouths happy…Bellys even happier…Yaayy!! (lol) The unripe plantains in this dish works very well for people on a diet/healthy eating pattern, it’s got loads of health benefits (great source of potassium, iron, calcium, magnesium, vitamins, and Omega 3 and 6 from the fish, and more). The richness, and nutrients all coming together from the marriage between the plantains, the fish and all the local spices used ( Nchanwu/African Basil leaves, Ehuru/Nutmeg Calabash,Uda,Uziza seeds)in this soup, makes it a hit.
